When I was approached to stage the architect-designed home in Kew, I was surprised to hear that the property did not sell during their first attempt two months ago. The house was previously staged by another stylist and I immediately noticed many things I would do differently.
The house has 4 bedrooms at ground level and one Master with its own lounge at first floor. I saw the potential in creating a private Master retreat which is rarely seen. In our design, we created a Master sanctuary, complete with its own 2-stations work/study and a private lounge.
We added a second living in the open kitchen/dining/living at ground floor which was missed in the first staging. More living spaces were added outdoor with a 6-seater lounge set and an outdoor dining. These added functional spaces are important in making sure buyers see the full potential of the property, which are then translated into value.
House was sold at second attempt at auction on 27th June, at a whopping $2.58 million sale price, well above vendor's reserve.
